merry christmas

i got a new camera for christmas. nevermind the blury arm (i think chad actually took this one). avery didn't care to open the presents but he did like playing with them.

this is avery's stocking, my grandma made it for him. she is amazing and has made everyone in our entire family one, each one is different. and actually she has had to make mine and my brothers and sisters a second time because they had gotten lost in a move a long time ago. i remember they used to be shortest to longest according to age. jaica's the oldest and hers was the shortest and kynna is the youngest so hers was the longest. luckily for me i am second to youngest so mine was pretty long too. i love our stockings it is my favorite thing to get out at christmas. so thank you grandma i appreciate the talent.

this was going to go in avery's stocking but it was a little bit big so it was just on the floor in our room and it is the first thing avery spotted when he woke up. i love how excited he is in this picture. he would have been so happy just for this one present.

el numero uno

avery is officially an entire 365 days old as of the 23rd approximately 7:45am ish. we had quite the family party for him. he was a bit taken aback by everyone singing happy birthday to him. then he devoured an entire cupcake minus a few crumbs. delicious, he loved it. avery is not walking yet, which is okay i don't know if i am ready for him to be that big yet. he really likes his dad these days. he will cry sometimes when chad walks away. and sometimes when i hear chad getting home we will hide from dad. avery thinks it is hilarious and almost gets too excited to handle the anxiety. he likes to throw things around his favorites are his tiny socks and the laundry but anything will do as long as he can move it/sort it/throw it. his best friends are danger and lola except when they eat his graham crackers out of his hand.

turkey trot, trot, trot!

pre-race action. we were so glad it wasn't raining. although i am hc (hard core) and would have ran anyway.

the fog horn sounded and off we go, i love the turkey (he's fast)!

this loon finished the race in 32 min. i was a little further than half way? what the? how the? i would like to see that man in running action! he probably just looks like a whoosh or a blur though, might not be able to be seen by the human eye.

intense. i know, i know.

i love the trot (hope to do better next year) and i love the turkey. avery on the other hand, i believe is nervous for the turkey.

special thanks to my running partner avery day. couldn't have done it without you. and also to my sponsers chad money day, and to uncle devin and kristin for providing avery's wheels.

families can be together forever!

it was shellee mom's birthday and what did she want? a temple day. so we went to the temple with devry, randy, shellee mom, and gpa dennis. then afterward we had a great bar-b-que. it was a great day. it had been a while since chad and i had gone to the temple. i am ashamed to say probably more than a year. yikes! far too, too, too, long. i noticed a difference in our relationship from not going like we should. it had become far too easy to be unkind, somewhat mean, take offense, and just not be happy with each other a little too often. going to the temple together just puts things back into perspective and brings us closer as a family. i am so glad we have one so close to us. now if we can just get ourselves there more often.

the nasty

this is a sweet 1980 VW vanagon. maybe you are wondering what a vanagon is? well wonder no more, it does exist and the days (thank you chad) now own one. it's nasty. i think i just named it. sorry chad, i hate it. it is a blue trapezoid on wheels. he bought it to sell it. my response, "who would want to buy that thing." his response "corri it is practically sold already." or "it's a car and it runs great so of course it will sell." did i mention it is FOR SALE? we took it for a drive the other night to my sisters which is a 30min drive. was i worried you say? would't you feel so silly you say? well yes and yes, thats what made it a little adventurous. for proof that it can move just look at the picture of me, do you see that wind in my hair? we were movin!, and we made it there and back safe and sound no break downs just the occasional pop sound when chad would shift. now if someone could just buy this awesome piece of nastyness. so did the sparkles in the slide help class it up or entice you to buy? i was hoping.

10 months! what the?

i know, right? he is a pure boy, no baby here. i say it all the time but i still can not believe how big he is getting. i might shed a tear when he turns one. i know this is my first and i don't know any better but 9/10 months maybe is the best age. he does fun cute little things every day. the other night at chads softball game i was humming and he started singing in a beautiful high pitched airy little song. it's pretty. he is crawling all over the place pulling himself up to the couch and is getting around pretty well. he loves shuffling around his blocks, putting his toys in and out of his bucket. and his two little front teeth have popped up. he is just pretty much the best little man ever!

avery enjoying his ride.

avery not enjoying his ride.

dirty newsies

the last time i saw a sunday paper was... oh i don't know, in high school when we (me and my cohorts) were piling an entire streets worth up on our friends doorstep for a joke. us little pranksters thought we were so funny! whoops! that really was the first thing that popped into my head when i saw the 3 papers in our driveway as we opened the garage to go to church on sunday. kinda funny! i get 3 of these dirty little things delivered so i can use them for couponsense. i have turned into one frugal nerdy little mother. and they really are gross to touch, worse than how my hands feel after rifling around at goodwill. these newsies better save me some mad dough.

training in session!

the turkey trot is coming! and i am siked to start training. i usually annoy the heck out of everyone trying to recruit people to run but not this year, my lips are zipped. this will be my only attempt for getting running buddies. the buds is already in. chad is a never again, unless i come up with a good bribe. so how about you? don't you want to chase a grown man dressed as a turkey on thanksgiving day?
i got my training schedule from google and it looks pretty good. and if you click from this page there is also a training schedule for walking a 10k. so if you are interested there is another site that i like called mapmyrun where you can put in your exact route you run/walk whatever and it will tell you exactly how far, how many calories you burn, and you can keep track of everything on a calendar.

VW's and hats with stickers

it's in his blood! chad couldn't be more proud. i can't wait for him to peel that stupid sticker off. chad told avery the bug is his when he turns 16, thats why he is so excited in the last picture. maybe it will be all the way done by then. we can't believe how grown up he is getting. he does something new everyday. avery day=amazing!

thank you, thank you, everyone!

thanks amanda! you gave me this wonderful unfinished frame forever ago. i loved it and knew just what i was going to do but never managed to do it, until now. i finally finished it and i love it. our home is blessed to have a picture of the temple now so thanks madem!

thank you devin and kristin. we had so much fun in show low this weekend hanging out and playing around. you were so nice to set us up in a cabin. we will have to find a way to make it work so we come up on your day off so we can all hang out and nobody has work. you are amazing and we love you!

thank you scott and chad. they manual labored for two saturdays to put this beast up and our yard (dirt) is hard as rock. scott was even so kind to bring over the heavy machinery to make it slightly easier (thanks gold medal gardening). it looks great and avery will love it-someday!

i love goodwill

i felt like the crazy lady on the stupid goodwill comercial today. you know the lady in the pink track outfit who goes in looking for a punch bowl and finds a ton of junk. that was me today, only i didn't get junk, i got a ton of loot! i was so excited. i just kept finding stuff all over the place. i love the easter tree i found, chad thinks it should still be on a shelf at goodwill. that little bird house thing i need to find a use for (either jewelry, candle, greenery). i got those hideously purple letters to paint them. the glass lemon i got because it was only a .99 so i will chuck it in the kitchen somewhere. and those amazing little flower broches i will be making magnets with. i got that cute little dress for a friends little baby girl, and chad got two shirts.

carrots today

is it just me buds, or do those orange carrots on your face make your eyes look really blue?

silly things i love about being a mom: the explosion of baby toys that are scattered about our living room, buying baby food & picking the flavor, sink baths, singing cheesy songs, the smell of his blanket, having a drawer in the kitchen with bibs tiny bowls & spoons and bottles, little clothes in the laundry...

this is just the beginning!

well hello everyone and welcome! i am new to this i didn't ever think i would make a blog, i am not much of a blog stalker. i don't even know if i will make a good blogger, i might end up neglecting it. so don't get too attached. mr. avery day is one of my inspirations for starting this up. and i am hoping it will help keep me on top of organizing and taking pictures of his wonderful little life. who wouldn't want to see that right?
